Communication

You might be getting concerned, as you’ve heard about the milestones of first words around first birthday, and two word combinations at two years old- but your child isn’t there yet.

You might be noticing yourbaby is quiet.

Or, perhaps you’re finding it hard to understand what they have to say - or visa versa, they’re finding it hard to understand what you have to say.

Perhaps your child is feeling frustrated by their communication difficulties; and maybe you are too.

The most important message I can share with you is that your intuition matters, very much.

“Wait and see” doesn’t cut it anymore - the sooner you are equipped with evidence-based early communication knowledge and strategies, the sooner we can make a change together. This change is not just your child’s communication skills and their development, but for their confidence, and their connection with you - and with their world.

My approach to therapy is informed by your priorities, your family, and your child, and focused on empowering you with the tools to lead the change for your child. We know that early intervention in communication (and dare I say, everything!) is best delivered where and when it is meaningful, motivating and most comfortable for children.

So while I love my little clinic room (and know you will too!), the magic happens outside of my four walls in which we practice these skills. It happens with you- in the park down the road, at the cafe next door, and back at home.

I integrate my experiences from consistently working with little people and their family’s communication skills over the past 13 years, some of the best coursework and training out there in early years communication, and the essence of you and your little one - and we start our journey.
